The Unfair Tax System in Nigeria: A Call to Action
This blog is written not to impress, but to deliver the unfiltered truth to the world. Unless the truth is spoken raw and undiluted, it will never reach the core of the masses or the heart of the nation. After a lie is told, every subsequent truth becomes suspicious.
The New Tax Reality: Protecting Your Hard-Earned Money
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced that the National Identification Number (NIN) will now automatically serve as a Tax Identification Number (TIN) for all Nigerians.
To ensure your private, non-taxable transactions are not wrongly flagged or taxed, you must use specific narrations:
Family Support: When a relative sends money, use "Gift / Family support."
Repayments: When a friend pays you back, use "Refund / Reimbursement."
Self-Transfers: When moving money between your own accounts, use "Personal transfer / savings."
Borrowing: When receiving a loan, use "Loan received."
Business Funding: If investing your own money into your business, use "Capital contribution."
A Government Working Against Its People
It is clear that the current administration is finding new ways to impose hardships on its citizens. President Tinubu has already lost the upcoming election in the hearts of the people. Knowing he forced his way into power without a true mandate, he is now focused on squeezing the economy and embezzling what remains.
While the government steals from the national treasury without investigation or consequence, they demand taxes from the struggling masses.
These funds are not used to build the nation; they are squandered on selfish gains and sponsoring the lifestyles of leaders' children abroad. There is no evidence of hard work—only the negative impact of their corruption.
Small businesses are taxed more heavily than large corporations, and now the government seeks to dip its hands into the personal savings of hard-working citizens.
If this continues, Nigerians will stop using banks entirely and return to cash-based living. This government will be taken by surprise when commercial banks run dry because the people no longer trust the system.
Tinubu’s goal to cripple the economy will not prevail. He and the corrupt leaders supporting him will eventually lose everything they have stolen. They must pay.
Selective Justice and State-Sponsored Terror
The history of tracking transactions in Nigeria is filled with injustice. We remember the case where a ritualist was tracked via a bank transfer. An innocent businessman who received a transfer without a narration was labeled an accomplice, arrested, and had his assets confiscated without a proper investigation.
Yet, when it comes to the government, there is no accountability. During recent peaceful protests, Tinubu—the false president—allowed the enforcement of "Oro" rituals, involving human sacrifice and slaughter openly in Lagos, to intimidate citizens into silence.
The Nigerian forces did nothing, ignoring their duty to protect the people. They forget that no one is untouchable and that their own loved ones may one day suffer the consequences of this lawlessness.
The armed forces act like zombies when the nation’s wealth is being embezzled, but they act like madmen when it is time to devour the common man.
A Nation in Crisis
Nigeria is now a place where the corrupt walk free while the innocent are persecuted. It is a nation where past leaders, like Muhammadu Buhari, appeared to value animal life over human life. It is a country where leaders unleashed Boko Haram to terrorize the nation and target Christians for political gain, only to lose control of the monster they created.
When President Donald Trump intervened to destroy these camps and defend Christians, Nigerian leaders reacted with envy and anger, viewing him as a threat to their embezzlement schemes.
This attempt to use the NIN to tax and steal from innocent citizens will not last. The government’s greed is leading us toward a "no currency" era where no one will accept a transfer without a specific narration. We are witnessing the crumbling of a nation at the hands of those who would rather see it burn than relinquish power.
